Malachi chavis
April 13, 2005 — June 18, 2026
With heavy hearts and tender memories, we announce the passing of Malachi Chavis, a remarkable young man whose life, though brief, touched many deeply. Born on April 13, 2005, in Red Springs, North Carolina, Malachi was a radiant presence, known for his boundless love for nature and his ability to connect with others through his genuine spirit.
Malachi graduated from Red Springs High and pursued a career in landscaping, where he could immerse himself in the natural world he so adored. His work was not merely a job but a reflection of his passion for the outdoors, bringing beauty to the lives of others through his craft.
Malachi's love for nature extended beyond his career. He found solace and joy in hunting and fishing, activities that mirrored his gentle yet adventurous spirit. Those who knew him will remember the gleam in his eye when recounting tales of his outdoor escapades and the peace he found in the quiet moments by the water or in the woods.
A devoted father, Malachi leaves behind his cherished children, Halaya and Angel Chavis, who were the light of his life. His legacy will endure in their hearts and the values he instilled in them. He also leaves behind his loving parents, Dusty Andrew Chavis of Wilmington, NC, and Tina Locklear of Red Springs, NC, who mourn the loss of their beloved son with profound grief and undying love.
Malachi was predeceased by his brother, Isaac K. Chavis, and his uncles, Perry and Corey Chavis, along with his grandparents, Joseph Chavis, Audrey B. Hall, and Neil Baker. Their spirits now welcome him into eternal rest, reuniting a family circle once broken by loss.
In this painful chapter, the family extends their deepest gratitude to all who have offered support and understanding. Malachi was a one-of-a-kind soul, whose authenticity and warmth left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. He was unwaveringly himself, regardless of the situation, a trait that endeared him to many.
In honor of Malachi, a private funeral ceremony will be held, allowing family and close friends to say their goodbyes in an intimate setting. The family kindly asks for privacy during this difficult time as they navigate their grief and celebrate the life of their beloved Malachi.
In the spirit of Malachi's enduring kindness, the family wishes to share a heartfelt message: If you know someone in pain or are in pain yourself, reach out. There is always someone who cares. Never choose to give up, no matter the challenges you face. Remember, "This too shall pass."
Rest in peace, dear Malachi. Your spirit will forever be a part of the natural world you loved so much, and your memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew you.
