Mahamadou yaressi

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Mahamadou Yaressi, who departed this life on September 23, 2026, due to complications from kidney disease. Born on May 24, 1944, in the vibrant city of Banjul, The Gambia, Mahamadou was a beacon of warmth, wisdom, and kindness to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Mahamadou was the beloved husband of the late Mariam, with whom he shared 62 years of a loving and harmonious marriage. Together, they were the heart and soul of their family, guiding them with unwavering love and strength until Mariam's passing in 2024. He carried forward the legacy of their partnership, nurturing a close-knit family that stood as a testament to their enduring love. He is survived by his cherished daughters and sons: Bobo, Aisha, Fatoumata, Binta, Dawouda, and Moussa, as well as ten beloved grandchildren who were the pride and joy of his life. Mahamadou's family meant the world to him, and he took immense pride in watching them grow, succeed, and continue the values he held dear. A devout Muslim, Mahamadou was an active member of the village mosque, where his faith was a guiding force throughout his life. He lived righteously, always striving to do good for the sake of Allah (SAW). His kind heart and fair nature touched all who crossed his path, earning him the reputation as one of the best people one could ever meet. His life was a tapestry of dedication and passion, primarily revolving around the family farm, where he expertly managed cattle and horses. Despite limited resources, Mahamadou kept the village thriving, embodying resilience and resourcefulness. His love for farming and animals, particularly horses, was evident in every aspect of his work and leisure. He found joy in bicycling, often exploring the beauty of his surroundings with a sense of wonder and appreciation. Mahamadou's legacy will forever be remembered by his family and community. His life was a testament to kindness, fairness, and devotion. As the family mourns his loss, they find solace in their faith and the belief that he has returned to his Creator. In honor of Mahamadou's memory, the family has expressed a special message: “إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ‎” — "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return." May Allah grant him al-Jannah and have mercy on his soul. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Mahamadou's memory to a charity or cause that reflects his life and values. His spirit will continue to inspire those who loved him, and he will be deeply missed by all.
