It is with heavy hearts and profound admiration for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Madonna Jean Noir, who departed this world peacefully in her sleep on May 2, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on April 15, 1950, in the vibrant heart of Manhattan, New York, Madonna was a beacon of kindness, humor, and talent who left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Madonna was the cherished daughter of the late Georgette Healey and J. Frank Farley. Her upbringing in a family that valued intelligence and creativity deeply influenced the remarkable woman she became. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother-in-law, Gene DePorter, whose memories she held dear throughout her life. A proud graduate of Conard High School in West Hartford, CT, class of 1968, Madonna's thirst for knowledge and sharp wit set her apart. She was renowned for her extraordinary intellect and her unique brand of sarcastic dry humor, which left everyone around her both amused and enlightened. Madonna's career was as diverse as her talent. She began by writing fashion articles for the Hartford Courant, captivating readers with her insightful commentary and love for style. Her passion for fashion led her to own a clothing store in Hartford, CT, where she not only offered garments but also warmth and friendship to all who crossed her path. Her artistic prowess was evident in her work as well. Madonna was an amazing artist whose pencil portraits and oil paintings brought beauty and emotion to all who beheld them. Her employment with the Danbury Mint showcased her artistic talents on a grand scale, while her personal artwork continued to inspire and delight those around her. Beyond her professional life, Madonna was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her beloved children, Vivian Noir and Rahsaan Black, who were the light of her life. Her legacy of love continues through her seven cherished grandchildren: Jada K. Lyons, Jesse A. Burney Jr., Tyler R. Burney, Alexander T. Williams, Andrew J. Williams, Cain Black, and Amari Elston. Each grandchild was a source of immense pride and joy for Madonna, who loved them deeply and unconditionally. Madonna's compassion extended far beyond her family. Known for her generosity, she touched countless lives with her kindness and willingness to help others. Her circle of love included her siblings: Robert Farley, Andrew Farley, Patricia Tommasi, Steven Farley, Georgette DePorter, Jack Farley, James Farley, and Billy Farley, with whom she shared countless cherished memories. A celebration of Madonna's life will be held on May 23, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the Molloy Funeral Home, located at 906 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06119. Family, friends, and all who were touched by Madonna's grace and humor are invited to join in honoring a life that was lived with passion, love, and laughter.
