Madeline S.
December 31, 1952 — April 23, 2026
With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Madeline S., a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Madeline peacefully departed this world on April 23, 2026, at the age of 73, leaving behind an enduring legacy of love, kindness, and devotion.
Madeline was born on December 31, 1952, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, to Lou and Margie K. She grew up surrounded by the warmth of family, alongside her brothers Anthony, Stephan, and Louis. Her early years were marked by a joyful spirit and a keen intellect, qualities that would guide her through a life of remarkable achievements and cherished relationships.
A proud graduate of California Community High School, Madeline's thirst for knowledge led her to California State College in Pennsylvania. It was in California, PA, where she met the love of her life, John S. On July 6, 1963, they began a journey of love and partnership that would span over six decades. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories.
Madeline's professional journey took her to Washington, D.C., where she served with dedication at the Department of Agriculture. However, her most treasured role was that of a mother to her daughters, Katherine and Andrea. Madeline chose to stay home with her children during their formative years, nurturing them with the same warmth and compassion she showed to everyone she met. Once her daughters began school, Madeline returned to work, lending her talents to school food services in Madison, Ohio, and Hastings, Michigan, ultimately becoming a beloved head cook.
A devoted member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Madeline was active in the Catholic Daughters, where she served as treasurer. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her.
Madeline possessed a multitude of talents and interests. Her baking, especially her pies, was legendary, and her piano playing brought joy to many. An avid reader, she passed this passion on to her daughters, fostering a lifelong love of books. Madeline's creativity shone through in her crafts and needlepoint, creating intricate Christmas stockings for her grandchildren that will be treasured for generations.
To have known Madeline was to experience a gentle, caring, and loving presence. Her kindness was boundless, and her ability to lift the spirits of those around her was unparalleled. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her husband John, her daughters Katherine (Michael) White and Andrea (Jeffrey) Beye, her grandchildren Dalten, Mallory (Carl) Franson, Margaret Madeline, and Andrew, her brother Louis (Kathy) Krizmanich, her sister Kathy Bachner, along with cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.
Madeline is reunited in eternal peace with her beloved parents Lou and Margie, her brothers Anthony and Stephan, and her infant daughter. Her legacy is a testament to the power of love, family, and faith.
A service celebrating Madeline's life will take place on May 9, 2026. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in her memory to St. Rose Catholic School, ensuring her spirit of generosity and support for education endures.
Madeline S. was truly a blessing to all who knew her. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends, and she will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
