In Loving Memory

Maddie LeHew
August 12, 2014 — October 27, 2026
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Maddie LeHew, who left this world far too soon on October 27, 2026, at the tender age of 12. Born on August 12, 2014, in Cedar Rapids, Maddie graced her family and all who knew her with a spirit that was both vibrant and tender.
Maddie was a beacon of joy and curiosity in her community and to her cherished parents, Nathaniel and Candice LeHew. A sixth-grader full of promise and potential, Maddie was always eager to learn and explore the world around her. She found immense joy in the outdoors, where she could often be found with a book in hand or capturing the beauty of nature through her budding talent in photography.
Her youthful enthusiasm and love for life were infectious. Maddie had a knack for seeing the world through a lens of wonder, and her photographs reflected her unique perspective and appreciation for beauty in the everyday. Her love of reading transported her to different worlds, and she would often share stories and insights with friends and family, igniting their imaginations alongside hers.
Maddie's kind heart and gentle spirit touched everyone she met. Her ability to spread warmth and kindness was felt by her classmates, teachers, and everyone in her community. Though her time with us was brief, the impact she made in her twelve years was indelible and will be cherished forever.
A service to celebrate Maddie's life will be held on November 26, 2026, at 3:00 PM at 3856 Lost Valley Rd, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Family, friends, and all whose lives Maddie touched are invited to join in remembrance and honor of her beautiful spirit.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in Maddie's memory. This gesture would honor her loving nature and commitment to making the world a better place.
Maddie will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Her light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved her, guiding them with the same love and joy she shared with the world.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Maddie LeHew welcomes donations to a charity, nonprofit, church, or organization of your choosing.
