In Loving Memory

Maddalena V. Grimaldi
November 3, 1932 — October 8, 2026
Madeline (Maddalena) V. Grimaldi passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on October 8, 2026. Born on November 3, 1932, in the village of Cleulis, Italy.
She is reunited in peace with her parents, Placido and Paolina Bellina, her sister Licia Hanf (the late Robert), and her beloved husband, Michael.
She is survived by her children, Maryann Valentino (the late Philip), Eugene Grimaldi (Marie), and Piero Grimaldi (Stephanie); her sisters, Mary Gast (the late John) and Antoinette McKernan (John); nine grandchildren, Jena, Lauren (Dan), Michael (Julie), Nicholas (Phylicia), Alexandria, Anthony, Dante, Evan, and Giovanna; and seven great-grandchildren, Briena, Brayden, Hunter, Lucas, Nora, Cecilia, and Patrick.
Madeline was a devoted homemaker, foreman, painter, contractor, and managing landlord; she was the cornerstone of her family. Radiant, unapologetic, and delightfully unforgettable, Madeline lived with an infectious energy and a heart so big it naturally made her the center of every room. Known as the family's chief storyteller and resident fashionista, she had a unique flair for making even the most ordinary days extraordinary.
Whether you were a close relative or a passerby, to know Madeline was to be entertained, fiercely loved, and thoroughly fed. She was a woman of boundless warmth and sharp wit, and her home was always filled with laughter and embellished tales. She approached every day of her 93 years with a signature flair, proving that a truly larger-than-life spirit never grows old—it just accumulates better stories.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate Madeline's remarkable life at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church located at 7051 Tulip Street, Philadelphia, PA 19135 on October 26, 2026 with a visitation from 9:00 AM-10:15 a.m. followed by her memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m.. Burial to follow Mass at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Madeline’s memory to Pancreatic Cancer in honor of her late nephew Robert Arnone
