It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Mable McGranaghan, who departed this world on May 10, 2026, at the age of 73. Mable was born on October 13, 1952, in the picturesque town of Plainfield, New Hampshire, where she began a life filled with love, dedication, and service to others.
Mable was the beloved daughter of the late Maude Earle and a cherished sister to the late Mike Earle. Her early years were marked by a strong sense of family and community, values that she carried with her throughout her life. She is survived by her loving sister, Mary Durgin, with whom she shared a lifelong bond.
In 1972, Mable married the love of her life, Douglas McGranaghan, with whom she shared countless cherished memories until his passing. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Billy and Ruth McGranaghan, who were the pride and joy of their lives. Mable's legacy lives on through her children, her five devoted grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her later years.
Mable dedicated much of her professional life to the Enfield school, where she worked tirelessly for many years. Her kindness and commitment to education touched the lives of countless students and colleagues. Even after her retirement, Mable remained a beacon of generosity and service, volunteering her time with local food pantries, ensuring that those in need were cared for with dignity and compassion.
A woman of many talents, Mable found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for cooking and delighted in preparing meals that brought her family and friends together, filling her home with warmth and laughter. Her culinary creations were not just meals but expressions of her love, and many fondly remember the joyous gatherings she hosted.
Mable's devotion to her family was unparalleled. She loved fiercely and protected those she held dear, providing unwavering support and guidance. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, as she was actively involved in both the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts during her children's formative years, fostering a sense of community and leadership in young minds.
Mable passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, as she had lived—with grace, love, and tranquility. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to family and community. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of Mable's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the indelible mark she left on their hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to local food pantries, a cause that Mable held close to her heart.
As we say goodbye to our dear Mable, we take solace in knowing that her spirit lives on through the love she shared and the lives she touched. Her legacy of warmth and generosity will forever be cherished and carried forward by those who knew and loved her.
