January 16, 1952 — April 19, 2026

It is with a heavy heart and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Mrs. Mable Burton Crittenden, who ascended to her eternal rest on April 19, 2026. Mable was born on January 16, 1952, in the vibrant city of Miami, FL, to her loving parents, Ms. Rosa Lee Smith and Mr. Odell Burton. Mable graced this world for 74 beautiful years, during which she embodied resilience, generosity, and an unwavering love for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband, James Lee Crittenden. Together, Mable and James shared a profound bond, blessing the world with two wonderful sons, Tijuan Crittenden, born on October 24, 1974, and Terrence Crittenden, born on January 26, 1980. Even after their paths diverged, Mable and James remained close friends, a testament to the profound respect and affection they held for one another. Mable’s academic journey took her through the halls of various Miami Dade County schools, culminating in her proud graduation from Miami Jackson Senior High School. She always cherished her school days and fondly remembered her time donning the school's green and gold colors. Her professional life was marked by dedicated service at the United States Postal Service, where she worked diligently for 28 years. Her commitment and work ethic left an indelible mark on her colleagues and the community she served. Beyond her career, Mable's greatest joy was found in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid reader, and her love for literature transported her to worlds beyond imagination. Mable also found excitement and joy in the occasional visit to the casino, where she cherished the thrill and camaraderie. With a cold Pepsi in hand, these outings were truly a slice of heaven for her. But above all, her kitchen was her sanctuary, where she expressed her love through the art of cooking and baking, always with her family and friends in mind. In her heart, taking care of those she loved was her true love language. Mable's legacy lives on through her sons, her five adoring grandchildren, and one cherished great-grandchild. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering love have created a lineage of kindness and strength that will continue for generations. A celebration of Mable's life will take place on May 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Grace Funeral Home, located at 770 NW 119th St, Miami, FL 33168. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Grace Funeral Home for their compassionate services during this difficult time. Mable fought a courageous fight and has now gained her wings. While she may no longer walk among us, her spirit, vibrant and enduring, remains etched in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Rest in peace, dear Mable, knowing that you have left an indelible mark on this world and in our hearts.
