August 16, 1952 — May 23, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Lynne Marie Rustvold, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Lynne passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Savior Jesus on May 23, 2026, surrounded by family at her side, after facing several days of post-heart surgery complications with grace and courage. Born on August 16, 1952, in Mason City, Iowa, Lynne was the beloved daughter of Howard and Marion Bless. She was raised in a home filled with love and faith, values she carried with her throughout her life. Predeceased by her parents and her brother Larry, Lynne is now reunited with them in eternal peace. Lynne's life was a testament to the values of faith, family, and dedication. She was a proud graduate of St. Ansgar High School, class of 1972, and furthered her education at Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa, graduating in 1974. Her early career saw her contributing her talents to Collins (now Rockwell-Collins) Radio in Cedar Rapids and Land O’ Lakes in Fort Dodge. It was after her marriage to the love of her life, Don Rustvold, on July 16, 1983, that Lynne truly found her calling as a devoted wife and mother, balancing her professional endeavors with warmth and tenacity. Lynne was a pillar of her community, dedicating her time and energy to the Hamlin Lutheran Church and Brayton Lutheran Church, where she was an esteemed Sunday school teacher and active member of the women's group. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she lived her beliefs through acts of kindness and service to others. A woman of many talents, Lynne was known for her organizational skills, determination, and humble nature. Her love for baking and cooking filled the homes of family and friends with warmth and comfort. She found joy in sharing her culinary creations with those in need, a testament to her generous spirit. Lynne's love for walking, bowling, and tackling intricate puzzles brought her joy and kept her vibrant. Above all, she cherished moments spent with her granddaughters, Kylie and Brooklyn, and her family. Lynne leaves behind a legacy of love and faith, survived by her devoted husband, Don Rustvold; her son, Justin Rustvold, and his wife, Amanda; her two adored granddaughters, Kylie and Brooklyn; her sister, Larae Boatman, and her husband, Richard; her beloved aunt, Doreen Finnesguaard; and numerous cousins who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. A service celebrating Lynne's remarkable life will be held on May 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Brayton Lutheran Church, Brayton, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Brayton Lutheran Church in Lynne’s honor, ensuring her legacy of faith and community support continues. Lynne Marie Rustvold's life was a tapestry of love, service, and unwavering faith. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who were blessed to know her. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
