October 24, 1934 — June 1, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lynn Cary Franklin, a cherished father, grandfather, and friend to many, who peacefully departed this world on June 1, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on October 24, 1934, in the small town of Minot, North Dakota, Lynn lived a life full of love, service, and dedication. Lynn was the beloved son of George T. Franklin and Frankie L. Franklin, who instilled in him the values of hard work and kindness. He grew up in Minot, attending local schools where he formed friendships that would last a lifetime. His education was briefly interrupted when he answered the call to serve his country, proudly enlisting in the U.S. Army. His time in the military was a testament to his unwavering dedication to others. In August 1952, Lynn married the love of his life, Margaret "Maggie" Cuffe, in a union that would span decades. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter. Although Maggie and their beloved daughter Kathleen have predeceased him, Lynn's heart remained full with the memories of their shared life. Lynn's career was as varied and dynamic as the man himself. Known as a "true jack of all trades," he possessed an innate ability to turn his hand to any task, be it in carpentry, mechanics, or any other number of vocations. His work was a reflection of his character: diligent, reliable, and always completed with care. Family was the cornerstone of Lynn's life. He is survived by his children, Lynn Franklin Jr., Dorothy, and Colleen, who carry forward his legacy of resilience and compassion. His five grandchildren, including Ben Smith, were a source of immense pride and joy, each holding a special place in his heart. Lynn's life will be celebrated on June 9, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Thomas Funeral Home. It is in this service that we will honor a man who touched so many lives with his kindness, humor, and steadfast spirit. Those who knew him will remember his gentle smile, his wise words, and his ability to make anyone feel at home. In the days to come, as we reflect on Lynn's life, we are reminded of the profound impact one individual can have on those around them. His legacy is one of love, service, and an enduring commitment to family. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May Lynn Cary Franklin rest in eternal peace, reunited with Maggie and Kathleen, watching over his family with the same love and care he showed in life.
