In Loving Memory

Lynda Frances Brown
June 2, 1942 — October 8, 2026
Lynda Frances Brown passed away peacefully on October 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Lynda was born on June 2, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her biological father was Frank Rechlin, and her parents were George and LaVon Lint. The eldest of five children, she grew up in Magna, Utah, before spending much of her adult life in Tooele.
In 1961, Lynda married Harry (Charlie) Brown. Together, they welcomed two children, Michael Terrance and Kelley Lynn. The family lived in Utah before relocating several times, eventually settling at Fort Ord, California, with the 7th Infantry in 1972. Lynda would spend the next 40 years in the Monterey Bay area, a place she came to call home.
Lynda worked for the Department of Defense and then as a medical biller, until her retirement in 2004.
In 1991, Lynda joyfully embraced one of her most treasured roles when she became a grandmother with the birth of Shelby Kaitlin. Her family continued to grow with the arrival of grandchildren Talore Frances (1997), Nolan Ryan (2001), Jezrie Lynn (2004), and Edward Louis (2006).
In the late 1990s, Lynda met the love of her life, Stuart “Stu” Ritchie. Through Stu, she lovingly welcomed Kyle and Kara into their family, embracing them as her own. Her family grew once more in 2017 when Kara welcomed Jade, another cherished grandchild.
Lynda and Stu were the truest of soulmates and their happiness and love for each other was undeniable. It was truly inspiring to witness how deeply they cared for each other. She devoted herself to loving and caring for Stu throughout the remainder of his life, standing faithfully by his side through his own health journey. Her unwavering love and dedication carried them through many challenges until Stu's passing in 2021.
As the eldest of five children, Lynda shared her life with her brothers, Jay Lint, Randy Lint, and Steve Lint, and her sister, Sydney Hutchins. Her extended family also included Jay's wife, Lenore; Randy's wife, Janet; and Steve's wife, Dion.
Lynda was preceded in death by her biological father, Frank Rechlin; her parents, George and LaVon Lint, her husband Charlie, her brother Jay and his loving wife, Lenore; and her beloved soulmate, Stuart Ritchie.
Above all, Lynda will be remembered for her extraordinary kindness, her deep devotion to family, and her remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome, heard, understood, and loved. She had a compassionate heart and a generous spirit, always willing to offer a listening ear, a helping hand, or a safe place to land. She accepted people just as they were, without judgment, and gave freely of herself to anyone in need.
Lynda found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially gardening, music, and caring for her beloved birds. Gifted with a green thumb, she had a particular love for roses and hydrangeas and took great pride in tending her beautiful rose garden. The sweet sound of her whistling to her birds was one of those special little things that brought joy to those around her and will forever be a treasured memory.
Lynda's life was one of love, compassion, quiet strength, and generosity. She gave so much of herself to the people and animals fortunate enough to find their way into her heart. Her warmth, kindness, and unconditional love left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
The world was a kinder, more beautiful place because Lynda was in it. She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
