December 15, 2004 — April 4, 2026

It is with profound sadness and a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of our beloved Lydia Wagner, whose bright spirit was called home on April 4, 2026. Born on December 15, 2004, in Fort Calhoun, Nebraska, Lydia was a beacon of joy, her laughter often filling rooms with warmth and fond memories. It is perhaps fitting, though heartbreakingly so, that she left us due to uncontrollable laughter, a testament to the joy she constantly shared with those around her. Lydia was the cherished daughter of Susan and Vance Wagner, who survive her, alongside her devoted twin brother, Grant Wagner, and her loving partner, Tyler Alexander. Her family was the cornerstone of her world, and she was theirs. She is also survived by her aunts Valerie, Vicki, Kristen, and Lori, uncles Brad, Kent, Scott, and Steve, and her best friends, Kate, Brooklyn, and Emma, who shared countless adventures and laughter with her. Lydia was preceded in death by her dear family members, Tom McAndrews, Patricia Ho, and Leon Wagner, whose memories she cherished deeply. A proud alumna of Omaha Marian High School, class of 2023, Lydia was a dedicated student at the University of Nebraska, Omaha, where she was pursuing a Bachelor’s in Education and Human Sciences. Her ambition was to attend graduate school to become a Doctor of Occupational Therapy, a career path that perfectly aligned with her unwavering passion for helping others. In her professional life, Lydia worked as a physical therapy technician, where she touched countless lives with her kindness and compassionate care, especially among the older generation. She had a remarkable ability to foster environments filled with motivation and recovery, embodying the healing spirit she aspired to fully embrace in her future career. Lydia was an active and vibrant member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma-Sigma chapter, where she served with distinction as Vice President of External Affairs and Academic Excellence Director. Her leadership extended to the pre-occupational therapy club, where she upheld the responsibility of Treasurer. Lydia's dedication to academics and leadership was further exemplified by her involvement in the Order of Omega, a Greek Honor Society. Beyond her academic and professional achievements, Lydia's gentle spirit found joy in the simplest pleasures. She loved walking around town with friends, indulging in sweet treats, and enjoying leisurely drives. Summers were often spent basking in the sun at her friends' lake houses, her laughter echoing across the water. Lydia's kindness and positivity were as boundless as her dreams, her light illuminating even the darkest of days. She possessed a rare ability to make each person she met feel valued and seen, a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her. A celebration of Lydia’s life will be held on April 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Seton, located at 4720 N 90th St, Omaha, NE 68134. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Children's Hospital, in honor of Lydia’s dream to help children through her work. We invite all who knew Lydia to remember her not in sadness but in the spirit of joy and laughter that defined her life. Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known her. The Lydia Wagner Memorial has been established to continue her legacy of love and service. Rest in peace, dear Lydia. Your laughter will forever echo in our hearts.
