Lydia Delgado

February 2, 1959 — October 9, 2026

February 2, 1959 – October 9, 2026 *“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7* Lydia C Delgado, age 67, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2026, in Floresville, Texas. Originally from Poteet, Texas, Lydia lived a life filled with faith, strength, laughter, and unconditional love for her family. After graduating from Poteet High School, Lydia earned her LVN nursing certification and cosmetology license and pursued biblical and theological studies at Baptist University of the Américas. A devoted woman of God, she loved sharing His Word through leading Bible studies and ministering through praise and worship with her guitar. Her vibrant personality, infectious laughter, and unique sense of humor brought joy to everyone around her. She also found happiness in baking, sewing, cooking, and spending time with her loved ones. Lydia’s greatest blessing was her family, whom she loved fiercely and supported faithfully. She is survived by her mother, Mary Bowers; her sisters, Angie Vasquez and Rosemary Contreras Garza; and her four daughters, Joy Lynn Delgado Lopez, Carol Ann Delgado, Roberta Lynn Delgado, and Lydia Ann Delgado. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren—Jazmine, Emmanuel, Aries, Evan, Hendrix, Jordan, Benjamin, and Gabriella—and her great-granddaughter, Amari Jade, along with extended family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lane Stephens; her sisters, Kathy Bowers and Reva Ledesma; her grandparents, Odilia and Simon B. Davila; and her beloved aunt and uncles, Sylvia Almanza, Encarnacion “Chon” Davila, Simon Davila Jr., and Rodolfo “Rudy” Davila. Lydia’s faith in the Lord was the foundation of her life, and she often shared that faith to bring comfort and strength to those she loved. Though her laughter and presence will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, faith, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her family finds comfort in the promise of Heaven and the hope of eternal rest in the presence of the Lord.
