October 17, 1939 — May 10, 2026

It is with a profound sense of loss and deep appreciation for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Luz Cirne on May 10, 2026. Luz left us peacefully at the age of 86, surrounded by family and enveloped in love, at her home in Aviero, Portugal. Her passing was attributed to health complications related to her advanced age. Born on October 17, 1939, in the picturesque town of Aviero, Luz was the cherished daughter of George and Lucinda Cirne. Her early years were filled with the vibrant colors and rich culture of Portugal, nurturing a love for her heritage that she carried throughout her life. Luz was the beloved wife of Marco Cirne, with whom she shared a beautiful journey of love, devotion, and partnership. Together, they built a family rooted in values of compassion, integrity, and resilience. Luz was a devoted mother to her two daughters, Maria and Fatima, who were the pride and joy of her life. Her nurturing spirit extended to her ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored and inspired with her wisdom and kindness. Luz was predeceased by her dear family members, including her sister, Fernada Maria Cirne, and another sister, Fatima Cirne, alongside several beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Their memories, cherished and eternal, were sources of comfort and strength for Luz throughout her life. A woman of remarkable grace and quiet strength, Luz was known for her unwavering faith and her ability to provide solace and guidance to those around her. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth, filled with laughter, love, and the aroma of her legendary Portuguese dishes, which were a testament to her deep love for family and tradition. Luz's legacy is one of love, resilience, and an enduring commitment to her family. Her gentle spirit, compassionate heart, and unwavering resolve will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. A service to celebrate Luz's extraordinary life will be held on May 18, 2026, at 12:00 PM, at Santo Antonio, located at Tv. das Cardadeiras 10, 3800-218 Esgueira, Portugal. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and to honor the life of a woman whose impact will be felt for generations to come. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Luz's memory to a charity of choice, reflecting her lifelong dedication to helping others. In this time of mourning, we remember Luz Cirne as a beacon of love and light, whose spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, yet her legacy will live on in the hearts and lives of her family.
