In Loving Memory
Luz Brisbois
November 4, 1932 — April 6, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Luz Brisbois on April 6, 2026. Born on November 4, 1932, in the vibrant city of Morelia Michoacan, Mexico, Luz's journey from orphanhood to a life filled with love, service, and unwavering faith is a testament to her resilience and grace.
Though life began with hardship, Luz's strength was forged early, finding solace in her deep and abiding faith. It was this personal relationship with God that guided her through the trials of her youth and became the anchor of her life. Her favorite verse, "When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up," from Psalm 27:10, was a guiding light, reminding her of the divine love that embraced her when the world seemed otherwise.
Luz's pursuit of knowledge and her passion for caring for others led her to become a Pediatric Registered Nurse in Mexico. Her thirst for knowledge and ambition did not stop there; she went on to obtain a Master's Degree in Hospital Administration from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma De Mexico. Her commitment to healing and helping others crossed borders when she legally immigrated to the United States, a country she affectionately called "the greatest in the world." In the 1960s, during a nurse shortage in the U.S., Luz's skills and compassion were a beacon of hope for many, as she dedicated herself to the care of patients with unwavering dedication.
In Oregon, Luz's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as she served as CEO of LuVon Financial. Her influence extended into the community through her involvement with the Tualatin Chamber of Commerce and her many volunteer efforts in schools and civic activities. Her contributions enriched the lives of countless individuals and fostered a sense of community wherever she went.
Later in life, Luz found yet another community that cherished her spirit at the Oasis City Church in Idaho. Here, she forged lasting connections and shared her wisdom with people of all ages and backgrounds. Luz was known for her infectious smile, her kind words of encouragement, and the warmth she brought into every room she entered.
Luz's personal interests were as diverse as her professional accomplishments. She found joy in sewing, singing, walking, and meeting her neighbors. But perhaps her greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she kept in her prayers and cherished deeply.
Her family wishes to honor her life with a private ceremony, where they will remember her with the hymn "His Eye Is On The Sparrow," a reminder of her faith and the divine protection she felt throughout her life.
Luz Brisbois leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and faith. Her life was a testament to the power of resilience and the healing strength of compassion. Though she will be dearly missed, her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her, and her memory will remain a blessing to those who carry her in their hearts.
