Luther Alan Miley, a devoted family man and passionate adventurer, passed away peacefully with family by his side on July 6, 2026, in Covington, LA. Born on December 26, 1959, in Bogalusa, LA, Luther's life was a testament to love, hard work, and the joy of family.
Luther was the cherished son of the late Luther Odis Miley and Estelle Owens Miley, who instilled in him values of integrity and kindness that he carried throughout his life. He was predeceased by his beloved parents but leaves behind a legacy of love through his family.
For 39 years, Luther shared a beautiful life with his wife, Lisa Miley, whom he lovingly married on June 20, 1987. Their story began at a dealership where they worked together, and their bond was immediate and profound—a true love at first sight. Together, they nurtured a family that became Luther's greatest joy. He is survived by his sons, Alex Miley and wife May, and Michael Miley and wife Brittney. Luther’s heart was full with the laughter and love of his grandchildren, Marlowe, Layne, Lucy, and Oliver, who knew him as their beloved pawpaw.
Luther was a dedicated automotive technician, admired for his skill and commitment. He was a lifelong member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where his faith and community spirit flourished.
A man of many talents and interests, Luther was a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Tang Su Do and had a fervent passion for Harley motorcycles. He was a true jack of all trades, known for his hard work and love of cigars. Luther's adventurous spirit took him on travels across the majority of the U.S. and to foreign lands, with Alaska holding a special place in his heart. In his younger years, he found peace and joy in fishing.
Luther's life will be celebrated with a service on July 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Brown McGehee Funeral Home, 610 Avenue F, Bogalusa, LA. Visitation will be held the same day from 10:30 AM until the time of the service. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Grant Creel, Tony Passaro, Darren Simmons, Stacy Seal, Ricky Easterling, and Darrell Knight, with Mike Thomas serving as an honorary pallbearer.
Luther leaves behind a close-knit family including special relatives Elaine Knight, Mike Thomas, Sheree Magee, and Tessie Burr. His life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and the cherished memories of those he held dear.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Luther's memory to a charity of your choice. His spirit and legacy live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Rest in peace, dear Luther, knowing you were profoundly loved and will be deeply missed.
