Lula Bell Webb Hill

August 26, 1947 — June 8, 2026

It is with heavy hearts yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved Lula Bell Webb Hill, who departed this world peacefully on June 8, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on August 26, 1947, in Montezuma, Georgia, Lula graced this world with her presence, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Lula was the cherished daughter of the late Lewis and Lucille Webb. She grew up in a loving home, bonded by deep family ties alongside her siblings, the late Frances Mae Webb, Auburn Webb, and her surviving sister, Zera Mae Webb of Charlotte, North Carolina. Her early years in Montezuma were filled with love, laughter, and the nurturing care that would shape her into the matriarch of her own family. On October 5, 1962, Lula married the love of her life, J. D. Hill. Together, they built a beautiful life and a loving family in Ideal, Georgia. Their union was blessed with eight children: John Lewis Hill of Ideal, Rickey Lee Hill and Michael Anthony Hill of Oglethorpe, Patricia Anne Hill and Melanie Michelle Hill of Athens, Jeffrey Lamar Hill (Tilla) of Statham, and Jennifer Renae Hill of Kansas City, Missouri. Lula's heart was filled with joy and devotion for her children, instilling in them the virtues of kindness, resilience, and integrity. She was predeceased by her husband, J. D. Hill, and her daughter, Maxine Hill. Lula's nurturing spirit extended beyond her family. She dedicated many years working at nursing homes in Ideal and Montezuma, where she provided compassionate care to countless individuals. Her career was a testament to her unwavering dedication to helping others and her deep sense of community. Her legacy continues through her 11 grandchildren: Rashad McDonald of Ellenwood, Angel McDonald of Kennesaw, Simone Hill of Athens, Daqualin Joiner of Montezuma, Jakira Hill of Silver Springs, Maryland, India Hill of Columbus, Asia Hill of Savannah, Carendez Cortrez Hill, Shay Hill, Tiffany Hill, and Jay Hill, all of Oglethorpe. Lula’s heart overflowed with pride for each of them, as she watched them grow, guided by her wisdom and love. She was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren who brought even more joy and laughter into her life. As we reflect on Lula's life, we remember a woman whose warmth, compassion, and strength touched everyone she met. Her home was always open, her table always set for an extra guest. Her legacy of love and generosity will continue to inspire all who knew her. A celebration of Lula Bell Webb Hill’s life will be held on June 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Shady Grove Baptist Church, located on Whitewater Road in Ideal, Georgia. We invite all those whose lives she touched to join us in honoring her memory. Though she is no longer with us, Lula’s spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. As we say goodbye, we do so with the knowledge that her love will continue to guide and comfort us. Rest in peace, dear Lula, as you join your beloved husband, daughter, and family in the eternal embrace of heaven.
