It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Luke Reilly, born on June 8, 1950, in Meridian, Mississippi. This loving father, devoted grandfather, and cherished friend departed from this world on April 16, 2026, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by the love of his surviving family members, his son Luke Reilly II and daughter Elizabeth Reilly Todd. Luke was the beloved son of the late Wilson and Mary Scott, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms into the afterlife, along with his dear wife, Celia Reilly, whose memory he cherished deeply. Together, Luke and Celia built a life rooted in love and laughter, a legacy continued through their children and his three treasured grandchildren. Throughout his 75 years, Luke radiated a light that touched everyone he met. Known for his ability to make anyone laugh and to light up a room with his infectious smile and warm personality, Luke was truly someone everyone loved. His humor and kindness were his trademarks, qualities that will be remembered by all who were fortunate to know him. Luke was an avid concert-goer, a passion that he often shared with friends and family, creating memories that will be cherished forever. His love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies of hiking and fishing, pursuits that allowed him to connect with nature and find peace and joy in the world around him. A dedicated and active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Luke found community and faith within its walls. His contributions, both in spirit and action, enriched the lives of his fellow congregants and left a lasting impact on the community he loved so dearly. A service to celebrate Luke's remarkable life will be held on April 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church, located at 1400 Oxmoor Rd, Homewood, AL, 35209. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Luke are invited to gather in remembrance and gratitude for the time shared with such a remarkable man. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Luke's memory, to support the ongoing fight against the disease he faced with such bravery. Luke Reilly's legacy of laughter, love, and unwavering spirit will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him. His life was a testament to the power of kindness and the joy of living fully. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. May he rest in peace.
