It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Ludmila Khazins, who left us peacefully on March 12, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on October 23, 1939, in Russia, Ludmila was a beacon of kindness and generosity throughout her life, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Ludmila was the cherished daughter of the late Mikhail Zagarskikh and Natalya Fofanova, who instilled in her values of compassion and strength that she carried forward into her own family. She was the devoted wife of David, with whom she shared 60 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and joy—a legacy that continues through their children, Irina and Gene.
As a mother, Ludmila was nurturing and supportive, always encouraging her children to pursue their dreams. Irina and her husband Giorgio, as well as Gene and his wife Justine, were blessed by her unwavering love and guidance. Her grandchildren, Elizaveta, Ilya, and Heidi, and her great-grandchildren, Mika and Elin, were the lights of her life. Ludmila's family was her pride and joy, and she delighted in spending time with them, whether it was at a festive family gathering or a quiet afternoon at home.
Ludmila had an extraordinary talent for creating beauty with her hands. She loved to knit, draw, and paint, and her handmade gifts were treasured by family and friends alike. Each piece she crafted was imbued with her warmth and care, serving as a testament to her creative spirit and generous heart.
Her home was always open, and she welcomed everyone with a smile and a listening ear. Ludmila was known for her willingness to help anyone in need, a testament to her kind and compassionate nature. She enjoyed life to the fullest, always ready to celebrate with those she loved, and her joyful presence will be dearly missed.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Meriter Hospital for their compassionate care during Ludmila's final days, and to Foster Funeral Home for their support in this difficult time. To honor her wishes, a private ceremony will be held to celebrate Ludmila's remarkable life.
In remembering Ludmila, we hold onto the cherished memories, the love she shared, and the lessons she taught us. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, one that will continue to inspire and uplift all who knew her.
Ludmila, you will forever remain in our hearts.
