Lucille Shinn (Lucy) left this world to be with Jesus on August 25, 2026. Born on March 15, 1939, in Wellington, Kansas, Lucille lived a life full of love, laughter, and determination.
Proceeded in death by her parents Eric and Anna Timmis (Hubbard); sisters Beverly Bouressa and Chiryl Brack; husband Paul Shinn; son Ron Shinn and daughter Roberta Swenson.
Survived by daughter Robin Marin (Darrell); grandchildren Neil Swenson (Cassandra); Amy Swenson (Anthony); Bevan Stephens (Robbie); Aspyn Hodak (Josh); sisters Barbara Nottingham (Dave) and Gaylene Brown and 12 great grandchildren. Her beloved cat Pretty Boy Floyd is with family.
Lucille was a cherished member of her community, known for her infectious laughter and her unwavering care for everyone around her. Her warm spirit and kind heart left a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was truly a beacon of joy and kindness.
Throughout her life, Lucille had a variety of passions that brought her immense joy. She adored going to the movies, finding magic in the stories that unfolded on the big screen. Her love for shopping at thrift stores and garage sales was well-known, as she delighted in discovering hidden treasures and unique finds. Lucille also had a deep affection for animals, and her home was graced by the presence of many beloved pets over the years.
God and family were the cornerstones of Lucille's life. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
In memory of Lucille and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, honoring her caring nature and generous spirit.
Celebration of Life will be officiated by Christopher Fleet on Saturday September 12th, 10:30am at Christian Family Ministries located at 4502 S. Seneca St, Wichita KS.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Phoenix and Harry Hynes Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Lucille's final days. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts, and her legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
