Lucille Lattimore, a beacon of kindness and resilience, passed peacefully at home on July 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 24, 1937, in Augusta, Georgia, Lucille was the beloved daughter of the late Moses and Lucille Johnson. Her life was a testament to profound love, faith, and dedication to her family and community. Lucille was predeceased by her devoted husband, Reverend James Lattimore, her cherished parents, and many dear family members who now welcome her into eternal rest. She is survived by her children, William Campbell Jr., Carl Eric Campbell, and Debra J. Flournoy, who carry forward her legacy of compassion and strength. Her loving presence will be deeply missed by her siblings, Leontiene Johnson, Lula Jones, and Arthur Johnson, alongside her three grandchildren, including Rodney Jamal Campbell, and her seven great-grandchildren. Lucille's commitment to education and service was evident throughout her life. A proud graduate of Lucy Craft Laney High School, she pursued her passion for helping others by attaining an LPN and later a Master of Education from Georgia Southern University. Her career as an LPN and social worker at Georgia Regional Hospital spanned over 25 years, during which she touched countless lives with her empathy and dedication before retiring. A devout member of New Zion Hill, Lucille served faithfully on the Missionary Board, where her warmth and generosity enriched the lives of many in her community. Her unwavering faith and service were the cornerstones of her life, inspiring those around her to live with purpose and love. Services to honor Lucille's remarkable life will be held on August 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM at New Zion Hill, located on Deans Bridge Road in Augusta, Georgia. Family, friends, and all who were touched by her spirit are invited to join in celebrating the life of this extraordinary woman. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the medical staff at Piedmont Hospital, the orthopedic surgeon, and the dedicated staff of Southeast Hospice for their compassionate care in Lucille's final days. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Lucille's memory, continuing her lifelong mission of helping others.
