With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Lucille Adeline Lanthier (née Perry) on December 23, 2025, at the age of 86. Lucille left this world in the most serene of ways, embraced by prayer and the love of her family. Born on November 12, 1939, on a farm in Delano, Minnesota, Lucille was the cherished daughter of Fred and Adeline Perry. Her early years were filled with the simple joys and hard work that life on the farm brings, a testament to the resilience and strength of character she carried throughout her life. In Mason City, Iowa, on December 19, 1961, Lucille married the love of her life, Lawrence Lanthier. Together, they built a loving home and partnership that lasted 47 beautiful years until Lawrence's passing. Their marriage was a testament to their shared faith and deep commitment to each other and to their relationship with Jesus. Lucille was the devoted mother to all their children: Karl (Mary), Judith (Jeffery), LaVonne (Tom), Mark (Shelly), Denise, Mike (Becky), and Joan (Scott). She was the proud grandmother of 15 grandchildren and the adoring great-grandmother to over 19 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride. Her family was her greatest blessing and joy. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lawrence, her son William, and her sister-in-law JoAnn. She leaves behind her brother Fred Perry, sister Yvonne Zorn, brother-in-law Jim Zorn, and sister-in-law Lorraine Lanthier, who will all deeply feel her absence. Lucille was an active and beloved member of the Lutheran Church of the Master since her family moved into their first home on Dupont around 1965, after a kind invitation from Jan and Roger Nelson. Her faith was a guiding light that shone brightly throughout her life. Her dedication to her church community was unwavering, and she cherished her Bible study time at the Kalisch home A woman of many talents, Lucille had a creative spirit that touched all who knew her. She loved to sew, crafting beautiful quilts, stuffed animals, dresses, and Barbie clothes that her family treasures. Her passion for music was evident in her skillful playing of the accordion and family organ, and her green thumb was reflected in the roses she tenderly nurtured. The holidays were a special time for Lucille, who would craft plywood figures to adorn her yard and bake delicious treats for her family, ensuring everyone had a special bedtime snack. Saturdays were joyous occasions in the Lanthier household, with children eagerly awaiting their turn to bathe before watching Lawrence Welk and wrestling, a family tradition marked by good-natured arguments and laughter. Lucille took great care in preparing her children for Sunday church, ensuring the boys wore their father’s ties and all six children sat obediently in the second pew, as she spent her time with Jesus. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Lutheran Church of the Master for their unwavering support, bringing communion and sharing the gospel through song and scripture with Lucille for over 14 years while she resided in a nursing home. Your kindness and dedication brought her immense comfort. Lucille's family will forever remember her for the love she shared, the values she instilled, and the cherished memories she leaves behind.
