It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lucien Bourque, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who peacefully departed this world on May 21, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on October 14, 1934, in Central Village, CT, Lucien was a beacon of warmth and joy throughout his remarkable life. Lucien was the cherished son of Yvonne Miclette and Francis Bourque. He is predeceased by his dear sisters, Yvette and Georgette, and his brother, Eddy. Lucien leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by his adored wife of 63 years, Dolores, whom he met in Trinidad. They were married on January 12, 1963, in Danielson, CT, and together they raised four wonderful children: Belinda King, Beverley Bourque, Melanie Carriere, and William Bourque. A proud and loving grandfather, Lucien delighted in the lives of his seven grandchildren: Rachel Dansereau, Audrey Harper, Aaron Bourque, Leighton Carriere, Alexander Bourque, Rebekah Kissel, and Lydia Carriere. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and his love for them was boundless. Lucien's life was marked by service and hard work. He served his country with distinction in the Army for four years, a testament to his dedication and patriotism. His career was as diverse as it was fulfilling, ranging from delivering donuts to working at Pervel in Plainfield and Jones Apparel. Lucien also ventured into entrepreneurship, running his own collection agency with integrity and diligence. Since 1973, Lucien was a devoted member of Jehovah’s Witnesses, finding peace and purpose in his faith. His commitment to his spiritual community was unwavering, and he was known for his quick wit and warm smile, always ready with a joke to brighten someone's day. Lucien had a zest for life and relished every opportunity to spend time outdoors. He loved going to the beach and would seize any chance to feel the sand beneath his feet. His garden was his sanctuary, where he tended to many fruit trees, sharing their bountiful produce with neighbors and friends. Lucien was an adventurer at heart, taking his family on countless road trips, driving from Florida to Mexico, and even as far as Calgary, Canada. A celebration of Lucien’s life will be held on June 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Plainfield Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located on Lathrop Road in Plainfield, CT. His family invites all who knew him to join in honoring a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Lucien Bourque will be remembered for his kindness, his laughter, and his unwavering dedication to his family and faith. Though he has left this earthly realm, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy of love and joy will continue to inspire us all.
