September 12, 1931 — April 5, 2026

Lucie Ann Champagne Bryant, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026, at the age of 94, surrounded by the love of her family and the serenity of Lakeside Senior Living. Born on September 12, 1931, in Troy, NY, Lucie was the daughter of the late Katherine and Ralph Champagne. Her life was a testament to faith, family, and the quiet strength that comes from a heart full of love. Lucie's life was blessed with a remarkable 68-year marriage to her devoted husband, Wendell Bryant. Together, they built a family that became the cornerstone of her world. She was a loving mother to her seven children: Kathy Batten, Keith (Gina) Bryant, Anne Marie Peterson, Mary (Bryan) Preston, Lucy (Richard) Warren, and Sue Farmer. Lucie carried with her the memory of her daughter, Carol Bryant Bradway, and her sons-in-law, Jerry Batten, David Bradway, and Richard Peterson, who predeceased her. Her legacy is carried on through her grandchildren, each of whom she adored: Nicole Batten, Erica Green, Stella (Grady) Leavens, Randall (Lori) Peterson, Joshua Bryant, Matthew Bryant, Chelsea Preston, Buck Batten, Clara (Dustin) Yoder, Stephen Warren, and Sam Farmer. Lucie's great-grandchildren, Leighton Leavens, Rhys Peterson, Avary Layne Leavens, Natalie Green, Ellivia Leavens, Amelia Leavens, Lawson Peterson, Claire Green, Sadie Peterson, Fox Green, and Vera Graham, brought her immeasurable joy and boundless pride. Lucie was a woman of deep faith and an active member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her every action, and she found solace and strength in her community and her unwavering belief. Lucie had a gentle spirit and a generous heart, always ready with a kind word or a helping hand. Her home was a haven of warmth and laughter, where everyone was welcome, and the echoes of family gatherings lingered in the air. She had a gift for listening and a talent for making those around her feel cherished and valued. Although her presence will be deeply missed, Lucie’s spirit will continue to guide her family. Her life was a shining example of grace, resilience, and unconditional love. The family takes comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her parents, beloved daughter, and sons-in-law, and that her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. A funeral mass will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, where family and friends will gather to celebrate Lucie's life and the indelible mark she left on the world. As we say goodbye, we remember Lucie not with sadness, but with gratitude for the many beautiful moments we shared and the love that will forever bind us together.
