It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lucian "DALE" Durham, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left this world on May 21, 2026, at the age of 63. Dale's journey began in Lexington, Kentucky, on May 6, 1963, born to the late Lucian Allen Durham and Betty Jean Burton Durham. Dale's life was defined by his unwavering dedication to his family, his work, and his community. He shared 25 years of devoted service with the City of Nicholasville as a skilled mechanic, where his expertise, diligence, and warm-hearted nature earned him the respect and admiration of coworkers and friends alike. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for his beloved wife, Natalie Embry Durham, and their two sons, Justin Dale Durham, and his wife Kelsey, and Payton Jake Durham, and his partner Mattie Albertson. Dale was a proud and doting grandfather to four beautiful grandchildren: Jake, Matthew, Emma, and Daniella, whose lives he enriched with his boundless love and wise guidance. Dale was a man of many passions, most notably his love for old trucks, which he enjoyed restoring with a masterful touch. He found joy and camaraderie in playing softball, tackling mud runs, and sharing rounds of golf with friends. A devoted sports enthusiast, Dale was a steadfast supporter of the Cincinnati Reds, the Cincinnati Bengals, and the University of Kentucky, relishing every moment spent cheering them on. His family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Bluegrass Hospice, and especially to Shanna, for their compassionate care and support during Dale's courageous battle with cancer. Dale faced his illness with remarkable strength and grace, ultimately passing away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of his family. Dale's memory is lovingly cherished by his siblings, Paul Durham and his wife Sherrie, Patsy Brown, Timmy Durham, and Tammy Durham. He is also remembered fondly by his mother-in-law, Cheryl Jones, and his loyal and loving dog, Mac. Preceding him in death are his parents, Lucian Allen Durham and Betty Jean Burton Durham, his brother Carl Allen Durham, and his father-in-law, J.L. "Jake" Embry, whose spirits undoubtedly welcomed him home. As we celebrate Dale's life, we honor his enduring spirit and the indelible mark he left on the hearts of all who knew him. His warmth, humor, and kindness will be forever missed but never forgotten. In the words of his family, Dale will remain "Forever in our Hearts." Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of Dale's life and legacy, where stories will be shared, tears will be shed, and laughter will echo the joyous memories he leaves behind. May Dale's soul find eternal peace and may his spirit continue to watch over those he loved so dearly.
