The world lost a truly remarkable soul when Luberta Shaw passed away on August 10, 2026. Born on November 13, 1963, in the close-knit community of Senatobia, Mississippi, Luberta was a beacon of love and kindness throughout her life.
Luberta was the beloved daughter of Sallie Mae Shaw, who, along with her husband, John Love, and siblings Jeanette Shaw, Lizze Clemons, Mickey Shaw, Sr., Eugene Reed, and Robert C. Reed, predeceased her. Their memories and the love they shared with Luberta continue to be cherished by those she leaves behind.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Luberta will remember her generous spirit and unwavering devotion to her family. She is survived by a large, loving family, including her dear brothers George Shaw, Tonnie Shaw, Johnny Reed, Robert Shaw, Sammie (Barbara) Reed, Charles (Lois) Reed, Carl (Mary) Shaw, Billy (Carolyn) Reed, and Leroy (Tameka) Shaw. Her legacy of love extends to her twelve sisters: Josephine Coleman, Nancy (Lavaughn) Payne, Mary (John) Isabell, Millie Stowers, Dorothy Reed Hunt, Carolyn Irby, Geneva (David) Wooten, Shirley Reed Ramsey, Dollie Mae (Jessie) Massey, Tarsha Ramsey Whitehead, LeQuanna Ramsey, and Courtney Ramsey. Luberta's life was further enriched by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends, all of whom were touched by her warmth and kindness.
Luberta shared a special bond with her friends Laura Bobo and Carolyn Orborn, whose companionship enriched her life in immeasurable ways. Her beloved aunt, Leora Hardy, also holds a cherished place in her heart.
A service to celebrate Luberta’s life will take place on August 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the West #2 Antioch Baptist Church in Coldwater, Mississippi. It will be a time to honor the impact she made on the lives of those around her, and to find solace in the love and memories she leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Luberta Shaw. Her loving spirit and dedication to helping others will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Luberta Shaw's life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and family. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as her memory lives on in the hearts of everyone she touched.
