It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of LuAnn Paulsen Bellus Neiswanger, a beacon of light and love, who left this world on April 20, 2026, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. LuAnn was born on February 14, 1958, in Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska, a fitting date for someone whose life was a testament to love and joy.
LuAnn was the beloved daughter of William and Lucille Paulsen, who survive her, and she was predeceased by her first husband, Michael Bellus, and several cherished cousins. Her memory will be forever treasured by her devoted husband, Floyd Neiswanger, whom she married on October 29, 2017. Together, they embarked on many adventures, sharing laughter and love along the way. LuAnn is also survived by her loving son, Joseph Bellus, and his wife, Nicole, who brought immense joy to her life, along with a wide circle of extended family and dear friends.
A graduate of North High School in 1976, LuAnn's life was filled with vibrant creativity and a passion for the arts. From the moment she could walk, she danced, with a special love for toe dancing that captured her spirit. Her flair for costume design showcased her Fashionista Flair, enabling her to rock any style with confidence and grace. LuAnn's fashion sense was not just about clothing but about expressing her vivid personality and zest for life.
LuAnn's heart was as big as her smile, which could light up any room she entered. She was a member of the Born Again Singers at Florence Christian Church, where her soulful voice and infectious energy uplifted those around her. Her love for people and animals was apparent in all she did; she gathered friends wherever she went, forming a community bound by laughter and camaraderie.
Known for her mischievous spirit and love of fun, LuAnn was a practical joker at heart, bringing joy and laughter to any occasion. Her curiously wild and creative nature inspired all who knew her, and her giving spirit was a gift to everyone she met. Fiercely loyal, LuAnn remembered everything and everyone, embodying the essence of an "original Warrior Princess."
Her life was a celebration, and she found reasons to rejoice in the everyday moments, teaching those around her to cherish life and live it to the fullest. Her mantra, "Don't You Remember..." will echo in the hearts of those who loved her, a reminder of the indelible mark she left on their lives.
As we say goodbye to LuAnn, we honor a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and light. Her spirit will forever shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched. A memorial service will be held to celebrate LuAnn's remarkable life, filled with music, laughter, and the vibrant colors she so loved. We invite all who knew her to join us in remembering and honoring our beloved LuAnn.
Rest in peace, dear LuAnn. Your legacy of love and joy will live on in our hearts forever.
