Mr. William "Bro" Stokes
May 20, 1949 — July 31, 2026
William Edward Stokes, known affectionately by "BRO" Stokes, was born on May 20, 1949, to the late William Stokes Sr. and Willena Payne Stokes. After High School he enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After his tour in Vietnam, he returned to Vidalia where he was employed at Oxford Industries. Later he gained employment at Piggly Wiggly Southern, becoming a valued member of the transport division as a Truck Driver.
William was a devoted leader and Father Figure, to his entire family. Joining in marriage to his wife of 54 years,
Dr. Bernice F. Stokes where they developed a sound and loving connection of 2 very large families,
to which he is survived, will be missed and loved by them all...
