In 1982, his career brought him to Caracas and Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela.
Louy was not only a dedicated professional but also a man of faith and community. He served as a deacon at Eolian Community Church and was a passionate square dancer alongside his wife Barbara in the late 1960s. An avid fisherman, Louy found joy in the tranquility of nature, whether it was fishing in stock tanks, along the Gulf Coast, or trout fishing in the cool summers of Gunnison, Colorado, with his dear friend Jesse Amason.
Louy had a brilliant mind and a curious spirit, evident in his love for rebuilding computers in his 70s and 80s. His generosity knew no bounds, as he was always checking on his neighbors, both elderly and otherwise, ensuring their well-being. A steadfast advocate for Christian values, he raised his family with love and integrity. His compassion extended to animals, a reflection of his gentle heart. Known affectionately by his CB handle as the "Weekend Farmer," Louy often traveled to Eolian to work cattle with his parents and nephew Dan.
