In Loving Memory

Louise Mae Burnett (Michael)
November 28, 1942 — May 19, 2026
It is with heavy yet grateful hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Louise Mae Burnett, who departed this world peacefully at her home in the presence of her cherished family on May 19, 2026. Louise's remarkable journey began in Floyd, Iowa, on November 28, 1942, as the treasured daughter of Lloyd and Lavelva Michael. She was a beacon of love, creativity, and warmth throughout her 83 years, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Louise's life was a testament to devotion and resilience, qualities she carried throughout her marriage to her dear husband, Dick Burnett. They were united in love on August 6, 1961, and together they built a family filled with laughter, learning, and boundless affection. Louise and Dick's love was a cornerstone for their daughters, Regina (Matt) Hensley and Rochelle (David) Moss, who now carry forward their mother's legacy of kindness and strength.
A graduate of Rudd-Rockford High School in 1961, Louise was a woman of many talents. Her career as a homemaker was marked by her nurturing nature, and she later shared her warm smile and gentle spirit with countless others during her time as a checker at Safeway. Her colleagues and customers alike found her to be a source of joy and friendliness.
Louise's hands were never idle; they were always creating, nurturing, or comforting. She was an avid sewer whose talents were lovingly displayed in the countless baby blankets and rag quilts she crafted for family and friends. Her kitchen was a haven of delicious aromas as she baked with love, while her garden was a vibrant testament to her green thumb. Louise also had an eye for beauty, which she expressed through her floral arrangements, bringing nature's splendor to life in her home.
Family was Louise's greatest joy, and she found delight in every moment spent with her grandchildren, Michael, Chelsea, Riley (Jenna), and Raegan (Easton), as well as her great-grandchildren, Mariah (Kyle), Vincent, Melody, Annabella, and Murphy. Her legacy continues to bloom in the lives of her great-great-grandchildren, Magnolia and Violet, whose futures are brightened by the love she sowed in her lifetime.
Though predeceased by her son, Dale J. Burnett, and her parents, Louise's memory endures in the hearts of her surviving family: her devoted husband, Dick; her loving daughters; her brother, Leroy Michael; and the extended family who adored her. She leaves a legacy of love that will forever bind them together.
In keeping with Louise's wishes, no formal services will be held. Those wishing to honor her memory may do so by sending cards to Dick Burnett, 18 Moss Ranch Rd, Twin Bridges, MT 59754. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Honey Bee Hospice of Dillon, MT, for their compassionate care during Louise's final days.
As we say farewell to a remarkable woman, we find solace in the beautiful memories of a life well-lived. Louise Mae Burnett will be deeply missed and fondly remembered, a gentle soul who left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
