Louis H. Burton

It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the recent passing of Louis H. Burton on June 30, 2026, at his home in Leesburg, Florida. He was Born on June 10, 1947, in Millsboro, Delaware, where he grew up in the loving home of his grandparents Herbert & Florence Burton. Louis was the beloved son of Frances Burton Hardcastle, who predeceased him, and he was also preceded in death by his stepson, Kevin Greer. He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Mattie; his loving daughter, Adrian F. Burton of Orlando, Florida; his stepdaughter, Leanne Greer of Leesburg, FL in addition to (4) four grandchildren ; (8) eight great grandchildren, (1) great, great; a host of close aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was a 1966 graduate of Wm C. Jason High School in Georgetown, DE . Later in 1968 he joined the United States Army , and was honorably discharged in 1975. His career path led him to the Walt Disney Company in Florida, where he served as a merchandise driver / deliveryman for 15 years, leaving a lasting impression with his colleagues until his well-earned retirement in Dec 2013. After moving to Seaford, DE Louis became interested in a Bible study along with his brother in-law, Emerson Prattis, Sr. Happily, In July 1986, he was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses & regularly attended the Seaford, DE Kingdom Hall surrounded by loving friends forming lasting relationships to this day . Louis was always willing to help out and assist whenever possible. He had a gentle personality that people liked about him and respected him for it. A service to remember the life of Louis Henry Burton will be held July 18, 2026, 2:00 pm , at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located at 533 Sunnyside Dr., Leesburg, FL 34787.
