Louis Calvin McCoy Jr., a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026. Born on March 23, 1968, in Houston, Texas, Louis was a beacon of light and laughter for all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his cherished mother, Linda Jean McCoy, and is survived by his devoted father, Louis Calvin McCoy Sr. He also leaves behind his loving siblings: Paul McCoy, Peter McCoy, Michael McCoy, Angela McCoy, and Nicole Goodman, as well as a host of adoring nieces and nephews. Louis's journey began as a proud graduate of Lamar Senior High School, where he not only excelled academically but graduated at the top of his class. His passion for technology and service to his country led him to enlist in the U.S. Air Force in 1986. During his six years of service, he distinguished himself in the field of technology and was honorably discharged in 1991. Upon his return to Houston, Louis continued to inspire young minds by leading the ROTC Drills and Development at his alma mater for two years, a testament to his lifelong commitment to helping others. His career in computer technology was a natural fit, as Louis had an innate ability to see beauty in all things. His joy in creating graphics and transforming photos into breathtaking images was only rivaled by his joy in life itself. Whether crafting a poignant video or bringing smiles with his humor, Louis's work reflected his vibrant spirit. Louis's personality was as rich and varied as his interests. A lover of potato salad and a connoisseur of desserts, particularly German Chocolate Cake and Pecan Pie, he brought warmth and joy to every gathering. Known for his boisterous laugh and playful jokes, Louis had an infectious zest for life. He loved singing and dancing, often marking family occasions with his unique charm and energy. A service celebrating Louis's extraordinary life will be held on August 21, 2026, at 11:15 a.m. at the Houston National Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to line up at lane two to honor his memory. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Louis's name, ensuring his spirit of giving continues. The McCoy family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have shown their love and support during this difficult time.
