Louella Jamison
April 10, 1955 — June 29, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the peaceful passing of Louella Jamison on June 29, 2026, at her beloved home, surrounded by the warmth of family and cherished memories. Born on April 10, 1955, in the charming community of Columbus, Georgia, Louella was a beacon of compassion and kindness throughout her 71 years of life.
Louella was the beloved daughter of Arie Bell Preston, who instilled in her a deep sense of empathy and service to others. From a tender age, she embraced her calling as a caregiver, beginning her journey in the nurturing role of tending to children in their homes at just 17 years old. Her dedication to nurturing did not stop there; Louella went on to serve as a teacher's aide in the Calhoun County School System for many years, impacting countless young lives with her warmth and unwavering commitment.
To those fortunate enough to know Louella, she was far more than just a neighbor or family friend. She was a second mother, a cherished grandmother figure, and a constant source of comfort and care. Louella had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel safe, seen, and deeply loved—a gift that she shared generously and without reservation. Her nurturing spirit was a guiding light to many, and her legacy of love and compassion will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted siblings: brothers Sgt. Charles Preston and Milton Preston, and her sister, Emmaline Young. Louella's life was further enriched by her five grandchildren, each of whom she adored and doted upon. Although she had no great-grandchildren, the seeds of kindness she planted in her family will undoubtedly flourish for generations to come.
In keeping with Louella's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor her life and legacy. Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their support and condolences during this difficult time. They ask that in lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Louella's memory consider acts of kindness in their own communities, perpetuating the love and care that she embodied so beautifully.
Louella Jamison's life was a testament to the power of love and service. She leaves behind a world made better by her presence, and her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she knew and loved. Rest in peace, dear Louella, knowing you have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of walking alongside you on this journey.
