May 27, 1946 — June 21, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Lotus Virginia Hobson, who peacefully departed this world on June 21, 2026, in the tender embrace of her daughters after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 27, 1946, in Wewoka, Oklahoma, Lotus lived a life that was a testament to love, resilience, and boundless generosity of spirit. Her 80 years among us were filled with laughter, wisdom, and an unwavering dedication to the people she cherished most. Daughter to the late Hurley and Edith Goldsmith, Lotus was raised with values that guided her throughout her life. She carried those principles into her own family, where she was a beacon of strength and love. Lotus shared her journey with her soulmate, Johnny Hobson, with whom she built a life rich in love and memories. Together, they raised three wonderful children, instilling in them the same compassion and warmth that Lotus was known for. The depth of their love was apparent to all who knew them, and their partnership remained strong and devoted until Johnny's passing. Lotus is predeceased by her beloved parents, her husband Johnny Hobson Sr., and her dear son Johnny Hobson Jr. While these losses were profound, she found solace and joy in the lives of her surviving family members: her daughters, Bonnie Meneese and husband Jerry Meneese and Annette Brown and husband Stehmann Brown, who remained by her side with unwavering devotion. As a grandmother of seven—Apollos Lewis, Shalisa Robertson, Kristin Brown, Katina Brown, Jamal Hobson, Ashley McFall, and Courtney Bowen—and a great-grandmother to seventeen, Lotus’s legacy will forever endure. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought immense joy to her life, each visit filling her home with laughter and love. Lotus possessed a rare gift for connection. She never met a stranger, and her ability to make others feel seen and valued was a testament to her compassionate heart. Many who had the privilege of crossing her path left with a smile, a meaningful conversation, and often, a new friendship. Her warmth and kindness turned simple moments into treasured memories, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. A service celebrating Lotus’s life will be held on July 7, 2026, where friends and family will gather to honor a woman whose love and wisdom touched so many. Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find comfort in knowing that her spirit and love will continue to guide us. In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to honor Lotus’s memory to share in her legacy of kindness. Let us all continue her tradition of reaching out, making connections, and sharing love with those around us. Lotus Virginia Hobson leaves behind a tapestry of love and memories that will forever be cherished. Though she has left this world, her spirit remains ever-present in the hearts of those she loved. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
