Lorraine Fiasconaro

June 20, 1931 — June 7, 2026

It is with profound sadness and gentle acceptance that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Lorraine Fiasconaro, who departed this life on June 7, 2026, just shy of her 95th birthday. Lorraine was born on June 20, 1931, in the vibrant community of South Boston, MA, where she would spend a lifetime sowing seeds of love, commitment, and service. Lorraine was the cherished daughter of Evelyn Holmes, who predeceased her, and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her legacy is beautifully reflected in her surviving family: her son Benedict "Benny" Fiasconaro; daughters Jayne Maher and Karen Kennedy, along with her husband Bo; and her son Michael. Lorraine was blessed with the joy of five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable pride and happiness. She was predeceased by her son Charles Fiasconaro, granddaughter Carly Fiasconaro, daughter-in-law Karen, and son-in-law Jack Maher, whose memories she cherished dearly. A graduate of South Boston High School's class of 1948, Lorraine carried her Southie spirit into a fulfilling career. She retired from Stone & Webster, but her dedication to her community never ceased. Lorraine lent her talents part-time to the South Boston Action Center and the South Boston Tribune, and for 26 remarkable years, she enriched the lives of many at the South Boston Neighborhood House, affectionately known as "The Ollie," focusing on senior programs that brought warmth and connection to countless lives. Lorraine's commitment to her community was unwavering. A longtime member of the South Boston Irish American Society, she also volunteered with the Castle Island Association, ensuring the preservation and enjoyment of one of Boston's treasured landmarks for future generations. Her life will be celebrated on June 15, 2026, with a service at 9:00 AM at the Spencer Funeral Home on East Broadway, South Boston, MA. Friends, family, and all whose lives she touched are warmly invited to gather in her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the South Boston Neighborhood House and the Castle Island Association, organizations that Lorraine held close to her heart. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Alliance Health at Marina Bay for the compassionate and dignified care they provided Lorraine in her final days. It is with thankful hearts that we remember a life well-lived, a woman well-loved, and a spirit that will continue to inspire us all. May the memory of Lorraine Fiasconaro forever be a blessing.
