Lorna Jean Simmons, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on November 8, 1959, in Rock Falls, IL, Lorna was the cherished daughter of James Bill Simmons and the late Betty June Simmons. Her life was a testament to kindness, generosity, and a deep, unwavering love for her family and friends. A proud graduate of Rock Falls High School, Lorna embarked on a life of service and dedication, building a remarkable 35-year career with the Conway Housing Authority. Her colleagues and clients knew her as a compassionate soul who found joy in helping others and improving their lives. Her commitment to her work and community was a beacon of hope and kindness. Lorna's life was rich with simple joys and passions. She found immense pleasure in playing games with her family, sharing laughter and creating precious memories. She was an avid reader and writer, with a special affection for books that transported her to other worlds and sparked her imagination. Her love for zombie movies was legendary, and she could often be found gleefully sharing her latest cinematic discoveries with her loved ones. She also enjoyed the thrill of gambling at the casino, where the excitement of possibility never failed to bring a sparkle to her eyes. Those who knew Lorna will remember her as a kind, caring, and supportive presence. She had an innate ability to make those around her feel valued and heard. Her warmth and generosity knew no bounds, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Lorna's legacy of love and kindness will forever be cherished by her surviving family members: her devoted father, James Bill Simmons; her loving daughter, Ambre Lunsford; her adored grandson, Vaniel Simmons; her dear brother, Jim Simmons; and her cherished sister, Sherry Allen. Lorna is now reunited in peace with her beloved mother, Betty June Simmons. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lorna's life on April 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Roller-McNutt in Conway, AR.
