Lorilee Ann Diggs, a beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, at the age of 63, after a courageous battle with illness. Born on March 11, 1962, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, Lorilee was the treasured daughter of the late Mary and Curlee Diggs, who now welcome her into their loving embrace once more.
Lorilee's life was one of joy, dedication, and warmth. She shared a beautiful life with her husband, Harry Boone, whose enduring love and companionship were her steadfast anchors. Together, they built a home filled with laughter and love, creating countless memories that Harry will cherish forever.
Lorilee's heart was as expansive as her circle of family and friends. She is survived by her devoted sister, Shairlynn Diggs, and her cherished sisters Mary (Ronald) Laws and Linda (Milton) Diggs-Breaux, who predeceased her. Though she had no children of her own, Lorilee was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews, who will carry forward her legacy of kindness and generosity. Her extended family of cousins and friends were equally blessed to have known her radiant spirit.
Professionally, Lorilee dedicated her life to the humble but essential work of cleaning buses and providing home care, roles in which she exemplified diligence and compassion. Her career was a testament to her unwavering commitment to service and community.
Lorilee had many passions, but none more so than her love for cooking, which she shared with all who gathered around her table, and her joy in stepping to music, which she reveled in at every opportunity. She was known for her vibrant personality and her ability to light up any room with her infectious smile and zest for life.
A celebration of Lorilee's life will be held on March 7, 2026, at 2:30 PM at the W.W. Holt Funeral Home, located at 175 W 159th St, Harvey, Illinois. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor her memory and the incredible life she led.
