Lori (Smith)Shaw, beloved wife, family and friend, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 22, 1965, she resided in Athens oh, with her husband Joh and sister Sandy, Lori was a beacon of warmth,strength, and kindness throughout her life.
Lori was the daughter of Neil and Janice Smith. She was reunited in eternal peace with her parents, her step-mother Linda K. Smith, her sister Julie Johns, her brother Dennis Smith, along with her paternal and maternal grandparents mother and father-in-law and numerous aunts and uncles.
A devoted wife, Lori shared a remarkable 26-year marriage with her husband, Joh Shaw. Their love story was one of deep commitment and shared joy, symbolized by their recent vow renewal. Joh's unwavering admiration for Lori was evident to all who witnessed their bond; she truly was the brightest star in his sky.
Lori was proud of her family they were her pride and joy, and she found immense happiness in the moments spent with them and her favorite little companion, "Stinky."
Her career in the restaurant industry spanned many years before she chose to retire, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication. Outside of her professional life, Lori was an active member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church, where her faith and kindness touched many lives.
Lori possessed a remarkable talent for sewing and was known for her creativity in crafting and food preservation, from canning to dehydrating. She cherished the simple pleasures of life—drinking coffee, sharing stories with her sisters, and creating lasting memories with her loved ones.
