Lori Kirby Schindele

June 24, 1973 — May 26, 2026

Lori Kirby came into this world on Sunday, June 24, 1973. She was born to (mom & dad names) And was the (# in line) Of (how many) Children. She grew up in (gig harbor?) And (highlights of her childhood years – funny anecdotes, etc) During her freshman year in high school, she laid eyes on Scott Schindele, they started dating 2 weeks later and never looked back. They shared a love that was unbreakable and built a beautiful life together, marrying on June 22, 1996 and raising their 3 sons, Jacob (Ella), Austin (Skyler) and Kody together in Gig Harbor. They built a loving, tight knit family unit. If there is one word that sums up Lori, it would be Fierce. She was fiercely protective of those she loved, you didn’t mess with those who were important to her or you suffered the consequences – but that may be a story or 2 for another time. She was fiercely loyal, if you were hers, you knew it and you felt it and you never had to wonder if she would be there in your time of need. She was also a fierce competitor, in any and all pursuits, she fought tooth and nail to be the best and there was just no quit in her. She approached her illness in the same way as everything else in life. She was a fierce fighter and was not about to lay down and give in. With Scott by her side, she faced each and every challenge with courage, grace and dignity and with a firm determination to take every last minute and live life to the fullest. Her devotion to Scott was unquestionable. Through every up and down that life gave them, they stood together, hand in hand, never a doubt that whatever they did or faced, they would do together. She was an equally devoted mother to Jacob, Austin & Kody. She was their biggest supporter and cheerleader in everything they did. Lori was the life of the party, her smile the shining beam that lit up the room. She leaves a legacy of courage, strength and love for each and every one of us who had the fortune to be in her circle. She will live on in our hearts and our memories. The family will hold a private service to honor Lori. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for her multitude of friends and loved ones to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to either Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center or the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of
Righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil:
For thou art with me:
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me
In the presence of mine enemies:
Thou anointest my head with oil:
My cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy
Shall follow me all the days of my life:
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
