It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Loretta Davis, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, on March 20, 2026. Loretta entered this world on October 16, 1958, in the historic city of Selma, Alabama, a beacon of love in the lives of her parents, Willie and Mary Lee Davis. Loretta's journey through life was marked by her unwavering compassion and a smile that could light up the darkest of days. She possessed a giving heart, always ready to embrace those who crossed her path with kindness and understanding. Her spirit was a testament to the love she held for her family and friends. A proud graduate of Selma High School, Loretta found her calling as a Personal Care Assistant, dedicating her career to caring for others at Edina Nursing Home until her well-deserved retirement. Her devotion to her work was only rivaled by the love she held for her family. Loretta's greatest joy in life came from the time spent with her beloved family. Though she faced the heartbreaking loss of her son, Henry Davis Jr., and her daughter, Tara Davis, her strength and resilience inspired all who knew her. She is survived by her cherished daughters, Angela Davis, Naomi Davis-Daniels, Shalonda Davis-McMeans, and Sherrell Davis, along with her treasured grandchildren, Milund Mathieu and Jeremiah Mathieu. Loretta's legacy continues through her godson, Rufus Loyd, and a host of great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward. Her passions were simple yet profound; Loretta loved going out to eat, shopping, and catching a good movie. Above all, she delighted in playing with her grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished for generations to come. A celebration of Loretta's life will be held on April 12, 2026, at 1:30 PM, at East Salem Baptist Church, located at 84 Co Rd 405, Selma, AL 36701. Friends and family are warmly invited to gather in honor of her remarkable life and to share in the joy of her memory. The Davis Family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Brooks Funeral Home in Minneapolis, MN, and Aubrey Larkin Lewis Funeral Home in Selma, AL, for their compassionate care of Loretta during this time. We also wish to thank everyone who sent flowers, shared words of comfort, or offered support in any form. Though Loretta is no longer with us, the love she shared and the kindness she showed will forever remain in our hearts. As we say goodbye, we celebrate a life filled with love and laughter and take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with those she dearly missed. Loretta Davis, your legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire us all. Rest in peace, dear Loretta. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
