Loretta Bellard June 17, 1939 – August 27, 2026 Loretta Bellard(Munhall) a lifelong resident of Troy, New York, peacefully passed away on August 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy woven with deep love, music, and a vibrant spirit. Born on June 17, 1939, she was the beloved daughter of John and Margaret Munhall . Loretta spent her entire life rooted in the Troy community she loved so dearly. Loretta was a powerhouse of devotion. She gave birth to eight children and proudly raised five, dedicating her life to her family. Throughout her journey, she beautifully filled many roles: she was an amazing daughter, sister, cousin, and aunt. To her children, she was an incredible mother, but to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was a true cornerstone of their lives—an absolutely amazing grandmother and great-grandma who loved them unconditionally. In her younger years, Loretta was known for her strong work ethic and versatility, successfully exploring many different career paths. Among her favorites, she drove buses, cared for others as a home healthcare aid, and even owned and operated her own cleaning business. Loretta lived life out loud. Dressed in her favorite classy outfits, her favorite color blue, she was always the undisputed life of the party—if a song came on, she would jump up and dance without a moment's hesitation. She loved the simple pleasures of life, like taking random car rides with no destination in mind, feeling the breeze, and listening to her beloved country music. She sang her heart out through every chapter of her life, and right up until her very last breath, she could be heard singing her absolute favorite song, "Crazy," holding onto that line, “Crazy for feeling so lonely.” One of her absolute favorite sayings, perfectly matching her love for those open-road car rides, was, “Show me the way to go home.” Now, she has finally found that peaceful road. Though she cherished every holiday, Halloween held a special place in her heart. She was always filled with pure thrill and joy seeing all of her great-grandchildren dressed up in their costumes. In her later retirement years, Loretta's deeply caring nature extended beyond her human family to the world around her. She found immense peace in her spare time feeding the wild animals and taking care of all the local stray kitty cats. She also loved traveling to Florida to enjoy the sunshine, always making sure to time it perfectly for when it wasn't too hot out. Loretta is reunited in heaven with her parents, John and Margaret. She is survived by a large, loving family of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who carry her memory forward. She also leaves behind her final, loyal companion: her beautiful little Chihuahua, Chico, who brought her so much comfort and joy. Anyone who truly knew Loretta knew just how deeply caring, fiercely independent, and full of life she was. She will be profoundly missed, but her song and her dance will live on forever in the hearts of those she loved.
