Lorenzo Williams, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2026. Born on November 16, 1960, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, Lorenzo was the beloved son of T Russell Williams and Dorothy G (Mattix) Williams. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, his brother Fernando Williams, and his dear granddaughter. Throughout his life, Lorenzo was a beacon of warmth and humor. His quick wit and infectious laughter brought joy to all who were fortunate enough to know him. He had an unparalleled ability to make everyone around him smile, regardless of the circumstances. This gift of humor, combined with his tireless work ethic, defined his character and left a lasting impression on many. Lorenzo's journey began at Victor Herbert Elementary School on Chicago's west side, where he first developed his love for learning and community. From a young age, he demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility, starting work as a paper boy and continuing to work diligently throughout his life. His career was as varied as it was distinguished; he was a skilled handyman with an eye for decoration and a passion for beautifying homes, both his own and those of others. Lorenzo's love for landscaping was evident in the care he took in maintaining the grounds around his home, always striving for neatness and perfection. This dedication extended to every task he undertook, as he was known for his determination to complete every job with precision and care. Family was at the heart of Lorenzo's life. He shared a deep and abiding love with his wife, Caroline Perkins, with whom he raised eight wonderful children. His family was his pride and joy, and he devoted his life to ensuring their happiness and well-being. Though he is survived by no grandchildren, his legacy lives on through the love and memories shared by his surviving siblings: his sister, Shirley A Williams, and his brothers, Jessie L Williams and James R Williams. Lorenzo was a man of faith, attending church regularly and drawing strength from his community. He lived his life with integrity and a genuine care for others, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a kind word.
