Lorenzo Bryant

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lorenzo Bryant, a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, who departed this life on August 3, 2026. Born on August 9, 1955, in Newark, NJ, Lorenzo was a beacon of love and resilience, leaving behind a legacy filled with laughter, compassion, and community service. Lorenzo was the beloved son of Gussie M. Bryant, who preceded him in death, as did his siblings, Londa and Pamela Bryant, and Charlie Bryant. He is also predeceased by his cherished children, Lamar Jones, TJ Jones, and Trini Shakir Bryant, as well as a host of extended family members and dear friends. Though they have left this world, they remain forever in our hearts and memories. Lorenzo's surviving children, Trini, Lamar, and TJ, along with his eight treasured grandchildren, will continue to carry his memory forward, drawing strength from the profound love and wisdom he imparted. Lorenzo's family was his greatest pride, and his love for them knew no bounds. A graduate of Southside High School, Lorenzo dedicated over 50 years to his work as a self-employed construction worker. His tireless work ethic and handy skills were admired by many, and his contributions to the field will be remembered for years to come. Lorenzo was deeply committed to giving back to his community. As the head of the Boys and Men Club and a volunteer at the Islamic Center at Masjid 25 Imam, he worked tirelessly to improve the lives of others. His faith as a devout Muslim guided his efforts and shaped his character, always striving to make the world a better place for those around him. Known for his infectious humor, culinary talents, and passion for fishing, Lorenzo brought joy and warmth to all who knew him. His ability to make others smile and feel at ease was a testament to his generous spirit and genuine kindness. In keeping with Lorenzo's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor his life and legacy. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed care, love, and support during Lorenzo's illness and throughout his life. Lorenzo's family has expressed their sincere thanks: "May Allah grant you a special grave. May Allah forgive you for your sins. May Allah grant you Jenna." In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lorenzo's memory to organizations that support community development and enrichment, reflecting his lifelong dedication to helping others. Though Lorenzo has left this earthly realm, the light of his spirit and the impact of his good deeds will continue to inspire all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace, enveloped in love and the grace of God.
