It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Lorene L. Hohn, a cherished wife, devoted mother, adored grandmother, and a friend to so many. Lorene passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, at the Desert Regional Medical Center, after a long and courageous battle with lung disease. She was 66 years old. Born on July 15, 1959, in San Bernardino, CA, Lorene was the beloved daughter of Leslie "Les" and Ellenor Lacy. She fondly recalled her childhood days, especially her vivid memories of having to run from her dad's pet goose, Fred. Her life was a tapestry woven with the deep love of family, friends, and an unwavering passion for animals. Lorene was predeceased by her loving parents, Leslie and Ellenor, her brother Leslie "Les" Jr., her sister Lynnet, and her infant son Christopher. Despite these profound losses, she carried forward with a spirit of resilience and grace, always finding joy in the world around her. A true crime enthusiast and a romantic at heart, Lorene spent countless hours immersed in her favorite shows and novels. Her love for a good story was only rivaled by her love for animals. An incredible animal lover, she never missed an opportunity to take in a new furry friend in need. Her home was a refuge for countless animals who found in her a gentle and caring spirit. She had a special love for horses and cherished the companionship and joy they brought into her life. Lorene was a woman of simple pleasures, with a particular fondness for a delicious steak done on the BBQ, a culinary delight she enjoyed as often as she could. Her warmth and generosity extended to everyone she met, and she had a unique ability to make those around her feel cherished and loved. Lorene leaves behind her devoted husband, Stephen Sr., her loving children, Stephen Jr. and Ryan, along with his wife Brooke. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Braden, Denver, and Levi, who were the light of her life. Lorene's family was her greatest pride and joy, and she dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting them. A service to honor and celebrate Lorene's life will be held on March 10, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the Frye Chapel & Mortuary of Blythe, located at 633 N. 7th St., Blythe, CA 92225. Family and friends are invited to gather to share memories and celebrate the beautiful life she lived. As we remember Lorene, her family shares a heartfelt message: "Sometimes I wish you could come back, but I don't want you to suffer again.
