Lorene J. Maloney: A Life of Gentle Kindness and Devoted Service It is with heavy hearts yet deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Lorene J. Maloney, who departed this world on May 8, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on April 25, 1944, in Great Bend, Kansas, she was the cherished daughter of Herbert and Lola Brown. Lorene was a beacon of light to all who knew her. Her life was a testament to compassion, resilience, and the unwavering love she held for her family and community. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Irene Whalen; her brother, Herbert Brown; her sisters, Opal Turney and Patricia Middleton; and her parents, Herbert and Lola Brown. Though her departure leaves a profound void, her legacy of love endures through her surviving family: her sons, James Whalen and his wife Michelle, and Donald Page and his wife Crystal; her dear sister, Delores Warren; and her niece, Laura Gut. In her professional life, Lorene was a dedicated worker who touched many lives. Her career included meaningful roles at ABC Liquor and Piper, but she found her true calling as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). In this role, she provided not only care but also companionship and comfort to those who needed it most. Her gentle spirit and nurturing nature made her a beloved figure among colleagues and patients alike. Lorene's heart found its greatest joy in her family. She was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren and a doting great-grandmother to three great-grandchildren. She delighted in every moment spent with them, imparting her wisdom, humor, and kindness to the younger generations. Her home was a haven of warmth and laughter, where countless memories were created and cherished. Beyond her family and professional commitments, Lorene had a deep love for the beach. The soothing sound of the waves and the vast horizon were sources of peace and inspiration for her. Additionally, she found immense satisfaction in helping others, whether through small acts of kindness or her dedicated work as a CNA. Her life was a continuous testament to the beauty of selflessness and generosity. As we gather to celebrate Lorene's life, we invite family and friends to join us for a service in her honor. The service will be held on May 30, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens. It will be a time to reflect on her impact, share stories of remembrance, and find comfort in the enduring love she leaves behind. In memory of Lorene J. Maloney, let us carry forward her legacy of kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for one another. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will forever remain in our hearts, guiding us with the grace and warmth she exemplified throughout her life. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave and the memories she leaves with those who were blessed to know her.
