It is with profound sadness and admiration for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved Lorene J. Maloney, who departed this world on May 8, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on April 25, 1944, in the heart of Great Bend, Kansas, Lorene was a beacon of warmth and kindness to all who knew her.
Lorene was the cherished daughter of the late Herbert and Lola Brown, who instilled in her the values of hard work and compassion that she carried throughout her life. A devoted sister to her predeceased siblings, Opal Turney, Patricia Middleton, and Herbert Brown, Lorene shared a special bond of love and laughter with her surviving sister, Delores Warren, and her dear niece, Laura Gut.
Her life was rich with love, marked by the joys and challenges of motherhood, as she lovingly raised her sons, James Whalen and his wife, Michelle, and Donald Page and his wife, Crystal. The loss of her daughter, Irene Whalen, was a profound sorrow that Lorene bore with remarkable grace and resilience, always finding solace in her family and community.
Lorene's legacy is carried forward by her beloved grandchildren, including her granddaughter Jessica Wichm, who brought immense joy to her days. Her heart swelled with pride as she watched her family grow, welcoming four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren into a circle of love that she nurtured with unwavering devotion.
A woman of quiet strength and gentle wisdom, Lorene's life was a tapestry of cherished memories woven with threads of friendship, faith, and family. Her kind spirit touched the lives of many, and her home was a sanctuary of warmth and hospitality where all were welcome.
Her life's journey will be celebrated with a service at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, located at 2323 W Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511, on May 30, 2026, at 1:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Lorene's remarkable life, to share stories and pay tribute to the woman who graced us with her presence.
In our hearts, Lorene will forever remain a guiding light—a testament to the enduring power of love and the beauty of a life lived with purpose and grace. We find comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her beloved family members who preceded her, and that her spirit will continue to inspire us all.
