With heavy hearts but enduring gratitude, we announce the passing of Lora Lizette Solis, a truly remarkable soul who touched the lives of everyone she met. Born on January 22, 1981, in Sunnyside, Washington, Lora departed from us after a valiant battle with cancer on June 21, 2026. Her journey was one of love, resilience, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Lora was the beloved wife of Ruben Solis, with whom she shared 28 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they raised three wonderful children—Damian, Kyla, and Ava—building a home filled with laughter, love, and countless cherished memories. As a family, they welcomed not only their own children but also their nieces and nephews, creating a nurturing environment full of warmth and happiness.
Her life was a tapestry woven with creativity and compassion. A graduate of the Class of 1999, Lora embraced every opportunity to learn and grow. She had a remarkable talent for sewing, turning simple ideas into exquisite creations. Her artistic flair extended to photography, real estate, and officiating weddings, where she helped couples celebrate life’s most significant moments. Her home was always a testament to her gift for decorating, a sanctuary of warmth and welcome, especially during the Christmas season—a time she transformed into pure magic for family and friends.
Lora's essence was defined by her generous spirit and open heart. Her home was a haven for all who needed comfort, guidance, or simply a listening ear. She loved deeply, extending her nurturing care beyond her immediate family to her many nieces and nephews, each of whom she loved as her own.
Her strength was awe-inspiring, particularly during her battle with cancer, which she faced with grace and an unbreakable spirit. Lora’s life was not defined by her illness but by her tremendous love for others, her tenacity, and her ability to find light in the darkest of times. Her kindness, courage, and selflessness will remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Lora is predeceased by her cherished grandparents, Kenneth and Maxine Brumbaugh, and her mother-in-law, Margarita Solis. She is survived by her devoted husband, Ruben, her children Damian, Kyla, and Ava, her precious granddaughter Janae Solis, her brother Joseph Schons, and an extended family of beloved nieces and nephews including Jacob Gamboa, Raquel Gamboa, Alex Sanchez, Cristy Sanchez, Monique Solis, Fabian Solis, Julian Solis, Santana Solis, Ricky Solis, Daniel Solis, Gilbert Solis, Silas Solis, another Julian Solis, Dezmond Solis, Maribel Solis, Myra Solis, Anita Solis, Elsie Solis, and Sabrina Solis.
A service to celebrate Lora’s life will be held on June 26, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Valley Hills Funeral Home. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone who cared about their sweet Lora. She will forever be missed and cherished in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lora’s memory to a charity dedicated to cancer research or to any organization that supports families in need, reflecting her generous spirit and lifelong commitment to helping others.
