Lora Ann Erwin
April 30, 1944 — March 9, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lora Ann Erwin, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who left this world peacefully on March 9, 2026, at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital in Dyersburg, TN. Born on April 30, 1944, in the warm embrace of Carroll County, TN, Lora lived a life rich with love, laughter, and the kind of compassion that left a lasting mark on everyone she encountered.
Lora was the beloved daughter of the late Wilbur Campbell and the late Lessie (McLain) Campbell Meggs. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Thomas Gale Erwin, whose memory she cherished dearly, as well as her son, Michael Thomas "Corky" Erwin, who held a special place in her heart. She also joins her three sisters—Lois Goodrum, Rasilvia Edwards, and Elizabeth Delaney—as well as her brothers, James Campbell and Jerry Campbell, and one great-grandchild in eternal rest.
A dedicated beautician by trade, Lora’s artistry went beyond her professional life. She had a remarkable talent for cooking, where her kitchen became a sanctuary of warmth and nourishment for her family and friends. Her love for crafts was evident in the beautiful creations that adorned her home, each piece telling a story of her life’s journey. Yet, her greatest joy came from the time spent with her children and grandchildren, whose lives are forever enriched by her love and guidance.
Lora is survived by her three loving daughters: Melissa Kay Riley of Halls, TN, Rhonda (Russell) Jones of Newbern, TN, and Wanda (Brian) Pendley of Friendship, TN. Her legacy continues through her nine adoring grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson, each carrying forward the values and love she instilled in them.
Her life will be celebrated on March 17, 2026, with a service at 11:00 AM at Halls Funeral Home, located at 109 N. Church St., Halls, TN. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Lora are invited to gather in remembrance and to honor the beautiful life she lived.
In this time of sorrow, we remember Lora Ann Erwin for the love and light she brought into our lives. While her physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will forever remain in our hearts. May she rest in peace, embraced by the love of those she held dear.
