It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Lonzell Parmley, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Born on November 1, 1949, in Horry County, South Carolina, Lonzell was a cherished soul who touched the lives of all who knew him. He departed this world peacefully on September 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of service, dedication, and unconditional love. Lonzell was born to Isaiah and Athell Parmley, who instilled in him the values of kindness, integrity, and perseverance. As a young man, Lonzell attended and graduated from Whittemore High School, laying the foundation for a life dedicated to service and hard work. He bravely served his country with distinction and honor in the United States Army for 20 years, followed by another 20 years of committed service with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the Norfolk District. His career was a testament to his unwavering dedication and exemplary work ethic. Lonzell is predeceased by his parents, his brother Benjamin, sister Jennifer, and his grandparents. He is survived by his devoted wife, Rose G. Parmley, who was his steadfast companion and confidante. Together, they built a beautiful family, including their cherished sons Steven and Lonzell Jr., daughter Vanessa (Leroy) who will forever carry forward his legacy with pride. He is also survived by his loving siblings, Valtenia (whose husband, Robert, is deceased), Jolene (Donnie), Doris (Morris), ODell (Debra), who will forever remember their brother as a source of strength and wisdom. Lonzell's memory will continue to live on through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who adored him deeply. His nieces and nephews will forever cherish the moments shared with their beloved uncle. A service to honor and celebrate Lonzell's life will be held on September 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Adams Funeral Home, located at 510 Stephenson Ave. Family, friends, and all who were touched by Lonzell's kindness and generosity are warmly invited to join in this celebration of a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to a charity of your choice in Lonzell's memory, reflecting his own life of giving and compassion. The Parmley family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Memorial Hospital staff, EMS, family, and friends for their unwavering support and love during this difficult time.
