Lonnie Creekmore

January 8, 1966 — April 25, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the peaceful passing of Lonnie Creekmore, who left this world on April 25, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and love of his daughters. Born on January 8, 1966, in Modesto, CA, Lonnie was a beacon of light and strength to all who had the honor of knowing him. Lonnie was the cherished son of the late Benjamin and Shirley Creekmore and brother to the late Mike Creekmore. He was a beloved father, raising his four daughters, Sara Curtis, Ashley Creekmore, Sabrina Creekmore, and Aleaya Creekmore, with unwavering devotion. His daughters, along with their significant others—Chris Ayers, Ryan Johnson—and his cherished grandchildren, Gage Curtis, Brayden Oxner, Landon Creekmore, Bentley Johnson, Bella Oxner, Brielle Creekmore Johnson, and Brooklyn Johnson, were the center of his universe. Lonnie shared a beautiful journey with his high school sweetheart, Kathy Chastain, whom he married on July 3, 1984. Together, they raised their daughters and relished in the joy of their grandchildren. Even after parting ways, their friendship endured, a testament to the love and respect that bound them. On June 20, 2016, Lonnie married Carleena Burrell, and together they nurtured a loving home for their daughter. A man of deep faith, Lonnie was an active member of the Calvary Apostolic Church, where he found solace and strength in his spiritual community. His faith in God was unshakeable, even as he bravely battled pulmonary fibrosis, a testament to his indomitable spirit and resilience. Lonnie's wisdom and love were guiding lights for his family, who will forever cherish his constant encouragement to surrender worries to God and extend love to all. Lonnie found joy in simple pleasures—reading the Bible, listening to worship music, and honing his skills in wood carving and engraving. He delighted in watching home renovation shows, finding inspiration in transformation and renewal, much like the impact he had on the lives around him. Lonnie is survived by his siblings Donna Lyon, Tina and Rod Rightnour, Mary and Rich Smith, and Ronnie and Tina Creekmore, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. His legacy of love and kindness extends beyond his family, touching the lives of his close-knit church family and the community that held him dear. A celebration of Lonnie’s life will take place on May 6, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Calvary Apostolic Church, located at 802 W James Blvd, St James, MO 65559. In this place of worship, where Lonnie found peace and purpose, we will gather to honor a life well-lived, a heart full of love, and a spirit that will forever inspire. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to a charity close to Lonnie’s heart, reflecting his lifelong commitment to helping others. As we bid farewell to Lonnie Creekmore, we hold onto the love he shared, the wisdom he imparted, and the unwavering faith he lived by. His memory will forever remain a guiding light in our hearts.
